Reminisce aka ‘Alaga Ibile’ needs no introduction. He is one of the few artistes in Nigeria who keep Hip-Hop alive. He became known when he teamed up with many other Nigerian artistes like Sheyman, Waje, Omawumi, and Ruggedman to mention a few, for the tribute to the late famous indigenous rap artiste, Dagrin. His short rap verse could bring tears from one’s eyes down one’s cheek. He however came to the spotlight in 2014 with a club banger: ‘Kako Bi Chicken’. He has been consistent ever since. In 2013, he collaborated with Davido to birth a cool Afro-Hip Hop smash hit, ‘Daddy Mi’. Fuji-inspired ‘Fantasi’ and ‘Government’ ft Olamide were also dropped. He followed up in subsequent years with singles like ‘Tesojue’ and ‘Skilashi’

What separates Reminisce from other rap artistes is the way he chooses his rhymes: he chooses them carefully and delivers heavy punchlines with injection of comical lines as well. He is one of Nigeria’s most versatile rap artistes: He switches effortlessly from rap to singing in most of his songs. His versatility is most evident in his exploration of Fuji in 2013 with ‘Fantasi’. The success of his songs earned him two endorsement deals with Samsung Nigeria and Guinness Nigeria’s Origin in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Because of his consistency and continued relevance on the Nigerian music scene, his Samsung and Origin contracts were extended this year.

On top of all that, he now has three albums to his credit: Book of Rap Stories, Alaga Ibile and Baba Hafusa he dropped last year. Yet, he is not resting on his oars as he is on his fourth studio compilation with the release of songs as ‘Asalamalekun’ and the remix ft Maybach Music act, Wale. Just yesterday he released ‘Owo Re’ It may not rock radio airwaves because of the use of some vulgar language but will definitely rock clubs and the streets which the streethop is originally targeted at.
